Right now, at the Indiana CPA Society we are embarking on quite a few exciting changes. Most of the change is our choosing, some of it is simply timing and all of it is aimed to provide the best possible experiences for our members.
I have been with the Society for 16 years so when I became President & CEO this January I was well-aware of what we had in the works, but then there are always a few surprises when you take on a new role and I couldn’t be happier with where we are headed.
Our first major update? In a few short days, a brand new incpas.org will launch and offer better site navigation based on research and feedback from members. As we started the website redesign process, we realized the INCPAS brand needed a makeover as well. In order to look as progressive as our many forward-thinking initiatives, we retired the red and blue pencils and the infinity symbol for a clean and streamlined text-only logo. You’ll recognize the familiar blue and red color palette — our hope is that this new look shows an appreciation for the past with an eye on the future.
Another big change in the months ahead? The Society’s offices will soon be moving to a new location nearby in Indianapolis. Our new address will be 9 Parkwood, and we are excited about making it a comfortable place for our members. It is being custom designed to meet our specific needs and includes updated classrooms for live courses, but with a more efficient use of space, and also more parking. Look for more information this summer about our August move date. We think you’re going to love it.
Additionally, we are rolling out two new leadership programs, one focused on members ages 30 and younger and one for more experienced members. These programs are aimed at offering a broad view of the profession’s future and ensuring a pipeline of CPA leaders for the Society and the organizations for which our members work.
We are also offering new “In the Know” webinars. These free, members-only webinars offer you up to eight hours of education on topics like professional trends, HR issues, technology updates and innovation. Webinars will be offered multiple times during each quarter.
Finally, I, along with other staff members, are planning visits to members around the state this summer and fall. We will appreciate any time you can give us to talk and get to know you better.
Despite all of this much needed change, our commitment to our members and your future remains the same.
In 2014, the board of directors, staff and other leadership groups developed INCPAS 2025 with our vision for the future of the Society and our members. We continue to use this vision as a guide for our changes and activities. Outlined below are our four bold challenges for the future:
- Diversity in the profession
- Education that meets the needs of CPAs in increasingly demanding roles
- The CPA Center of Excellence, which provides opportunities for collaboration among our members
- A bold challenge that demands we showcase CPAs as trusted resources and advocates for business
We are fine-tuning a roadmap to achieve these bold challenges so we can focus on creating the future rather than waiting to see what happens.
Our mission is to enhance the professional success of our members — and we work every day, side by side with you, to do just that. As we continue our efforts to transform business for CPAs, keep an eye out for these exciting changes. And as always, please reach out to our staff with any questions at any time.
